Gordon L. Lloyd, Sr., 76, of Somers, CT and New Smyrna Beach, FL, beloved husband of Jannette (Heath) Lloyd, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family December 11, 2015 at Halifax Health Hospice in Ormond Beach, FL. He was born January 4, 1939 in Stafford Springs, CT and was the son of the late Carlton, Sr. and Gladys (Worthington) Lloyd. Gordon lived in Enfield for 53 years and then moved to Somers. He was employed at Warren Pease Construction Company for 33 years and later formed L&L Construction with his son. He retired from by All Phase Enterprises of Stafford Springs. Gordon enjoyed refinishing furniture, working in his flower gardens, and wintering at his house in New Smyrna Beach, FL. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his wife, children, and grandchildren. In addition to his wife Jannette of 57 years, he is survived by three children, Susan Benson and her life partner Edward Tomlinson of Palm Coast, FL, Gordon L. Lloyd, Jr. and his wife Kathy (Root) Lloyd of Palm Coast, FL, and Gloria Sevigne and her husband Steven of East Longmeadow, MA; seven grandchildren, Matthew Benson of Las Vegas, NV, Andrew Benson of San Antonio, TX, Steven Lloyd and his wife Jillian of Palm Coast, FL, David Lloyd of Lake Mary , FL, Kara Sevigne of East Longmeadow, MA, Christopher Sevigne of West Springfield MA, and Diane Lancaster of Cape Cod MA; three brothers, William Pettee, of Somers, CT, Ernest Lloyd and his wife Caroline of Broad Brook, CT, and Elmer Lloyd his wife Sandy of Tolland, CT, a sister, Kathy Lamb and her husband Roy of Oakdale, CT, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers Carlton Lloyd-Jr and Kenneth Lloyd and stepmother Helen K. Lloyd . Relatives and friends may join the family on Thursday, December 17, 2015 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Somers Funeral Home, 354 Main Street, Somers, CT. A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 18, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Somers Center Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Halifax Health Hospice, Ormond Beach Care Center, and 235 Booth Road, Ormond Beach, FL 32174.
