Obituary for Helen E. Bletz (Landry)

Helen E. Bletz, 87, of Enfield, widow of Marcellus “Ted” Bletz, entered into eternal peace, Monday June 24, 2013 at Blair Manor in Enfield. The daughter of the late Wilbur and the late Bernadette (Martin) Landry, Helen was born in East Windsor and had lived in Enfield for over twenty years until most recently, where she had resided in Vernon. She, along with her mother, was the former owner and operator of the Melody Lounge Restaurant in West Springfield, a restaurant she took great pride in. She was an avid card player and also enjoyed trips to the casino. Helen is survived by two daughters, Laura Drouin of Feeding Hills, MA, Marcie Avery and her husband Richard of Chelsea, VT; two sons, Robert Bletz and his wife Eileen of Enfield, and Brian Bletz of PA; two brothers, Bud Landry and his wife Marlin of Abbot Village, ME, and Jack Landry and his wife Muriel of TX; three sisters, Bernadette Parilo and her husband Luigi , Janice Edwards , and Trudy Kolbenschlag and her husband Art, all of West Springfield, MA; 16 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; one great great grandson; and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service celebrating Helen’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday July 13th, 2013 at Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Rd., Enfield. Committal will follow at St. Patrick’s King St. Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Helen’s memory may be made to the National Breast Cancer Foundation, 2600 Network Blvd., Suite 300, Frisco, TX 75034.
