Obituary for Rita M. Johnson (Alley)

On December 22nd, Rita Marie Johnson a long-time resident of Enfield, CT entered into eternal peace at St. Francis Hospital. The daughter of the late Philip and Geneva Alley, she was born on November 12th 1934, in Frankfort, Maine, raised in Winterport, Maine and graduated from Crosby High School in Belfast, Maine. After 60 years of marriage, Rita is reunited in death with Korean War Marine Corps Veteran Everett Richard Johnson who she married on November,14, 1954 in Belfast. She leaves behind many loving memories for her family to cherish and is survived by: sister Janet (Alley) LeSan of Belfast, Maine ; son Richard E. Johnson and his wife Annmarie Johnson of Stafford, CT; son Kevin E. Johnson and his wife Alexandria Johnson of Somers, CT; Grand-daughter Ashley Catania of Stafford, CT; Megan Johnson of Stafford, CT, Grand-daughter Elizabeth Johnson of Somers, CT; Grand-son James Everett Johnson of Somers, CT; and twin Great-Grandchildren Hailee and Hayden Johnson of Stafford, CT. ; and her many nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her brother Phillip Alley of Bar Harbor, Maine. Rita served in the Masonic order of the Eastern Star and was a Daughter of the Nile for the Shriners. Admired by all for her beauty and grace, Rita loved dancing and had the most startling beautiful blue eyes. At her request there will be a private service at Somersville Congregational Church, followed by a brief private burial at Somers Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting memorial donations be made in her name to the Shriners Hospital for Children 516 Carew Street Springfield, MA 01104.
