Don Patchell, 72, longtime resident of Enfield and Stafford Springs passed away on Monday, August 6, 2007 at Hartford Hospital. He was the beloved husband of fifty two years to Joyce (Wagner) Patchell. Don was the son of the late Dale and Olive (Jones) Patchell. He was born July 28, 1935 in Deep River, CT. Don was a retired Connecticut Correctional Officer for the maximum security facility in Somers from 1968-1988. He was also a Tolland County Sheriff from 1990-1995 and he was presently employed by the Stafford Storage. Don took great pride and joy in his career as a correctional officer and also as a loving husband, father, brother and grandfather. Besides his wife Joyce he is survived by his sons, Adam Patchell and his wife Kari of Ellington, Wade Patchell and his wife Tiffany of Windsor Locks; his sisters, Jean Slayton and her husband Steve of Elmwood, CT, Yvonne Hyde and her husband Guy of Bozeman, MT; his grandchildren, Kenneth, Jacob and Abbe. He is preceded in death by one brother and two sisters. A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, August 12, 2007 at 3:00 PM at the Somers Funeral Home, 354 Main Street, Somers, CT.
