Condolences

Condolence From: Reg and Elaine Patchell
Condolence: Hi Aunt Joyce, Adam and Wade,
I could not believe it when Elaine called me from work to tell me of the tele type about Uncle Don. It has been a while since we have seen each other, between work, my operations and taking care of my mother we have been out straight. When I called you back in May you mentioned that Uncle Don was also having an operation right around the same time as my mom , I never even thought that Uncle Don could pass away. As you probably also know, my mom passed away on June 01, 2007 and we just came home Sunday from taking her ashes back to Maine.
I can remember all of those family get togethers for us when you lived on Rt. 16 in Colchester. All of the seafood that was eaten, the cards that all of the grown ups played as Adam and Wade, my brother Scott & I would go off and play. I can remember a lot of the times when you would visit us in Middletown, I just came across some old photos of when my dad was sick and everyone came to visit, Aunt Ferne was staying with my parents at that time, seems like yesterday.
I can remember a lot of times when we would stop to visit with you while we were going to Fern's cottage at Lake Williams. There were many times when I would see Uncle Don having to go to work in the old Somers Green uniform. Who would have known that in 1983 I would also join the DOC. Any trip, no matter what kind that was going to Somers I would volunteer for so that I could go to say Hi to Uncle Don. He would take me on a tour of the facility while my "people" were locked up in the medical unit for what ever they needed to have done. Man, that was sure a big place !! No matter where I was in my career I would always get asked if I was related to Uncle Don or that " C/O in the band with the funny hair." Hopefully my messages of hello were also sent along to them along the "old information highway" , the guests of our facilities who were traveling to and fro.
If there is anything at all that we can do for any of the family please feel free to contact us, anytime. We will be up on Sunday, take care and please keep in touch.
Reg & Elaine Patchell
