Condolences

Condolence From: Mark Washburn
Condolence: Mrs. Salamone, your husband was a wonderful music instructor that goes beyond words. He was my instructor as a boy growing up at Brainard School in the mid 60's. I can still picture your loving husband sitting next to me leading and encouraging me in playing my cornet. He had a remarkable patience and understanding. Though as a boy I took him somewhat for granted, he left the most indelible impressions in me of any teacher in grade school if not in all my 12 years in the public school system. I can still picture his smile and sense his gentle spirit though it was over 50 years ago now. I trust he is with the Lord in heaven today.

Condolence: My sincerest condolences to John’s family, especially his wife and children. I have fond memories of teaching with John in the Enfield Public School System. He was a joy to know, due to his enthusiasm and good-nature. He instilled this love of life in his children, especially “Chucker.” My thoughts and prayers are with you at this sorrowful time.

Condolence: I too was one of Mr. Salamone's music students. I am so grateful to him for teaching me to play the flute - a gift that I enjoy to this day. Holding your family in prayer as you mourn his passing.

Condolence: I am so sorry to hear of Mr. Salamone's passing. I too have thought about him over the years. He was my first music teacher in the 2nd grade in 1953. I will always remember him explaining to me the instrument was a harp not a "heart". As a university professor I can truly understand why he loved teaching. I look toward to playing the harp with you one day.

Condolence: I'm very sorry to hear of the passing of Mr. Salamone. He was my first music teacher in 1st grade, in 1960 at Noah Webster School. I remember him as a kind and entertaining teacher. He played musical baseball with us and I now know that was his way of teaching ear training. In second grade he taught us to play tonettes, a kind of simplified recorder. We always looked forward to his visits. I have thought of him many times over the years and I am sure I always will.
