I'm very sorry to hear of the passing of Mr. Salamone. He was my first music teacher in 1st grade, in 1960 at Noah Webster School. I remember him as a kind and entertaining teacher. He played musical baseball with us and I now know that was his way of teaching ear training. In second grade he taught us to play tonettes, a kind of simplified recorder. We always looked forward to his visits. I have thought of him many times over the years and I am sure I always will.
